Singing bowls - also known as Himalayan bowls – produce a clear, pure
sound to connect to the universe and have been used in Tibetan Buddhism for over 1500 years. They are used in meditation, yoga,
sound therapy, crystal healing, Reiki, shamanism, music, stress reduction and ceremonies
to promote a sense of inner peace and serenity and in space clearing to
purify and cleanse negative energy. In the Buddhist tradition, they are
toned to signal the beginning and the end of a meditation cycle. Tibetan
bowls vibrate with very pure note. Bowls of different sizes produce
varying notes which have a correspondence with the chakras.
tone is produced by striking the side of the bowl with a wooden mallet (sold separately). A
pure vibration also reverberates when the mallet is circled around the
bowl so that the bowl ‘sings’.
